Proper care and maintenance is critical in ensuring the longevity of a controller. Keep your hands and environment clean. Extreme environmental conditions, oils/dirt from hands, liquids, etc. can negatively impact the functionality of a controller. Do not disassemble the controller, as the screws are torqued to spec which greatly affects how the controller functions. If maintenance or repair is desired, consult an experienced professional for assistance. A few tips below:
-Keep hands clean (or whatever part of your body is interfacing with the controller) of oils/lotions/grease/sweat/dirt/grime.
-Controllers painted on the outside will dull/fade/wear over time. Do not clean with alcohol or other chemicals.
-Wipe sweat from hands often. Keep rags handy.
-Do not touch oily face, greasy hair, or adorable animals during gameplay sessions.
-Do not store in extreme environmental conditions: Temperature, humidity, smoke, etc.
-Do not stretch, kink, or wrap the cable tightly.
-Do not clean the controller with chemicals.
-Do not throw, spike, or otherwise abuse the controller.
